Day Five - Throat Chakra

Throat Chakra

Sanskrit Word: Vishuddha

The colour of our throat chakra is blue. The throat chakra is based at the collar bone. When this chakra is balanced, we speak with love and kindness. The throat chakra indicates our personal truth.


An overactive chakra will cause us to have a loud voice and interrupt when others speak. We do this due to fear that if we are silent, we think that our silence would cause us to be forgotten or overlooked.


An underactive chakra will have almost no voice, retreating into shyness or quietness. A person with underactive chakra causes a person to be unable to express themselves.


On this the fifth day we, will concentrate on the throat chakra. As you sit in meditation, we will recognize the position of the chakra point that we will be meditating on. Allow your feelings of being unable to communicate your thoughts clearly, of lying, of feeling a lack of purpose and struggling to express yourself creatively and allow yourself to release them with peace and love.


The Throat Chakra Affirmation

  • My fifth chakra is open to its perfect healthy state.

  • I speak my truth.

  • My truth comes to me easily.

  • I can express myself with ease.

  • I am connected to my truth.

  • My voice is a tool for self-expression.

  • I am empowered to speak my truth.

  • I embrace silence and know deep inner peace.

  • I am a good listener and give others my undivided attention when they speak.

  • I value the words of others.

  • I carry myself with integrity.

  • I remain true to myself in all that I say and do.

Conscious Meditation


Conscious meditation uses outward images to create inward calm. Relaxing the mind is always a challenge. Our mind is always full of chattering and images.


Create an atmosphere for this meditation by lighting a candle and/or incense. Sit in a chair or on a cushion. If you want, you could play meditation background music.

Sit upright or cross legged.

Relax yourself.

Concentrate on your breathing.

Listen to your breathing.

Allow your mind to flow.


Remember to set your timer/alarm for the period that you wish to sit in peace for.


As you sit in this stillness with your mind flowing, breathing in and out, allow a pure white energy to flow into you. .

Keep breathing in and out. Concentrate on the breath. Allow a flow of this energy.

Process your images without any involvement from yourself. Let the images flow through you as though you are watching a movie. With each breath we allow ourselves to detach from the experience.


Concentrate on your breathing. Connect with your Divine energy, breathing in relaxation and acceptance. Breathe in love and healing life, release all negative energy.


Sit in this state, breathing in and out for about thirty minutes. Visualize oneness with yourself and the Divine. Visualize yourself as light being. Feel peace within yourself.


Allow time to be without judgement. It is a time of expansion of the spirit. A time of releasing old negative thought patterns.


Give yourself a few minutes to return to normal consciousness.
