Greetings dear Beloved
I grew up in a time of community and involvement. I knew my friend's parents. Their parents knew me. Our parents knew each other. Our spiritual practices was communal. We knew each other, whether we were close friends or acquaintances. We grew up and took for granted the community of love and caring. I moved away from my community as a young adult, and over the next thirty years, I have been blessed to commune with friends from the past. Bonds were built on a foundation of deep spiritual connection. For some there was love and acceptance. For others, they experienced challenges and difficulties and desire to cut off ties with community living.
I have found my partner in my community that I grew up in. We were different then, and we are still extremely different today. However, we both choose to look past the difference in religious beliefs, upbringing and cultural differences. So the question is, so what did we have? Simply put....love.
Our love was not just romantic love, but in each other we had community. We raised our children on stories of our community upbringing and we were fortunate enough to create a similar upbringing for them in our new environment. Our community involvement with others extended through our children as well our mutual choice to be involved within the same cultural, religious and social environment.
Community is important. When we exclude ourselves from others, whether like-minded or individual thinkers, we cause our isolation. Obviously if you are unwelcome within a community do as the Bible says, dust your feet and walk away. There is always another door open, ready to welcome you.
Instead of isolating oneself or staying stuck in old relationships and old situations, open yourself to community involvement. Interacting with others, allows love to bloom. You get to share your love and kindness and in return you get showered with love and kindness from others.
When my daughter had her awful accident last year and was unable to walk, (she was knocked over by a car and broke her hips.) I was lost in my own pain and yet the love within my community supported me. You don't realise until you look back, how a community expressing love helps keep you together and helps you heal.
Choose to be part of a community and allow your love to flow. Remember that Love is not only romantic.
I drew a card from The Starseed Oracle by Rebecca Campbell. 'We the Hathors' with the following message: birth ushers in new life and the Hathors remind us that we are all children of the Cosmic Mother. We are being called to be held by her deep, never-ending love and embrace. This card is an extremely Divine Feminine card focusing on creation and birth. We are called to allow the Feminine Divine to rise within us to be mothers to others as well to mother ourselves. We are called to reach out in our community and to remember our place in the web of life. Open yourself to receive the overflowing love from the Feminine Divine Herself. Remember that no matter what your struggles are, there is a way.
Take heart.
Love to you
