It is what it is

Oftentimes we hear people use this phrase, 'it was it is' and I wondered if people actually know what it means. 'It is what it is' - is an invitation to radical acceptance of what is.

This means looking at things at face value. We often want to change things when we don't like the way that things are. We wallow in denial about the situation or circumstances and we end up causing ourselves a lot of unnecessary problems and pain.

'It is what it is' is when we have to look at our situations with honesty and truth and realise that we have to surrender to the situation and not try to change it. When we surrender to the situation, we allow ourselves the opportunity to have a choice in how we react to things as opposed to moaning and groaning and complaining and whining and ..... all things negative which restricts our growth. We take control of our responses, our behavior and our thinking.

Remember that 'it is what it is' is not about you NOT taking any responsibility for what is going on. You are called to be accountable for your expectations, your wants and your projected desired outcome. This is about you learning to accept the things that you can not change. This is about having the wisdom to know what you can change. The only thing that you have control over to change is yourself.

I drew a card from the Starseed Oracle Card Deck by Rebecca Campbell artwork by Danielle Noel with the following excerpts. The Great Severing. This is a shadow card that comes across as confrontational. This card brings to the surface anything that may be standing in your way from letting love in.

We experience many things in life that make it difficult for our hearts and soul to stay open to the never-ending source of love. We are all wounded and our unconscious wounds inflicts wounds on others.

This card tells us to come out of our caves and soften our hearts.

Soul inquiry....how can I soften my heart to those who have hurt me.

Remember, to have a great day.
