I am a planner. I always have been and I suppose that I always will be. I take time in the preparation phase - example, if I wanted to bake, before I start baking, I check that I have the ingredients. If I wanted to bake something specific and I didn't have all the ingredients, I will go out and get whatever is needed. If I did not want to bake anything specific, then I would look at my ingredients and look for a matching recipe. Sounds odd to many people, I know. Sometimes we are rigid in our thinking and other times, we allow ourselves to flow with what we have at hand, accepting our situations in the now.
I have always journaled, and I still do. I have different journals for different things. When my kids were in school, I had a journal for them and their schedules. I had my work schedule. My social lists, my reminders of scheduled phone calls with family and friends....and I also had my vision board. I feel that each compliments each other. My vision board had my big picture ideas and goals and my personal vision. Every few months I would reevaluate my vision board and check it against my life progress.
I must sound well planned and very organized however I found that all the scheduling, planning and goal setting caused a bit of anxiety when things did not go according to time lines. Life happens. Kids have unexpected and unplanned, unscheduled things that happen. There are things that can't be controlled and the vision can become very blurry. I put many things on hold at certain points in life and when the timing was better I revisited the goals and the vision board. Some things changed....a lot of things changed. Looking back through my journals, I can pin point turning points. I can look at my emotional state and the choices that I made and the impact that it made in my life and in those around me.
Look to the future and live life to its fullest. Planning is important but so is living in the moment. SET GOALS. ACHIEVE YOUR GOALS. DON'T FORGET TO LIVE.

Love to you,
Meenakshi
