Why should we meditate

I have been meditating for a while now and I have seen and experienced the benefit of meditation for myself. I have not become an enlightened being though I do try each day to open myself to be more mindful of myself, my actions and my thoughts. Meditation has taught me how to understand myself and my situations better. I have learnt to control my temper and reactive energy to become much more calmer and a bit more passive in my responses. There are times where I do have to reign myself in to be a bit calmer and balanced otherwise, I could end in my old 'fury' ways of aggression and irrational behavior.


Meditation has taught me a lot and I do believe in the benefits of meditation for each of us. Meditation is more than getting into challenging positions and chanting.


Meditation is a wonderful way to become one with your mind and learn more about yourself. Remember that when you start your meditation practice, it can be as long or as short as you need it to be. We will start with a seven day meditation challenge on the 25 August to help us get into the flow of a daily meditation practice.
